For her first performances of 2023, Regula Mühlemann will take on the role of the innocent and doomed Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto at Theater Basel. The production, directed by Vincent Huguet, will also feature tenor Pavel Valuzhin as the Duke of Mantua and baritone Nikoloz Lagvilava as the titular Rigoletto. Michele Spotti conducts.

Rigoletto, one of Verdi’s best-known and most frequently performed operas, tells the tragic story of a hunchbacked court jester and his beautiful daughter. You can attend the performances on January 21, 27 and 29, February 12, 16 and 24, and March 5.

Additionally, on February 9 and 10, Regula Mühlemann will be performing at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid with the Orquesta Sinfónica y Coro RTVE and conductor Christoph König. The program will begin with Costales’ “Post Mortem” Music, followed by Rachmaninov’s Three Russian Songs, Op. 41, and conclude with Mahler’s Symphony No. 4.
